The Last Dance

We had an intense and beautiful celebration yesterday. We had art, we had poetry, we had songs, we had dance and we had music. We created art, we came together to be together, through Mary Magdalene.
I will publish more photos here. I simply didn’t have the energy today. I didn’t even go to work. I had to spend the day resting after so much work and so much intensity. But I had a beautiful time, and felt supported at all times.
I announced that it would be the last one in this format. It’s become really difficult since I now live far from the site where it has taken place for the last 10 years. I noticed how details were not perfect because I couldn’t work at the space before in order to arrange the technical part. But I decided not to think too much about that, and accept, and celebrate that it was happening.
People had a great time and we culminated with Puerto Rican Bomba and Plena live music and everyone danced.
This photo is significant to me because in the dance floor are all my worlds combined: my sisters, my corworkers, my students, my poet friends, and new people I had never met before, my art, the beautiful roses my friend brought.
I look forward to sharing more photos soon. For now, I’m full of gratitude.
