Today’s drawing of Mary Magdalene

I spent a beautiful day in my studio, putting the final touches on Creative Soul and following inspiration wherever it would take me. And today, it took me to create a lined Creative Soul Journal with little excerpts of the book, just verses of poetic inspiration.

Here is one of the pages. Feel free to download for your personal use!

I had designed several of the phrases earlier on as stickers, and today I designed many more to use in the journal. It still needs some work and a cover, but I am happy with it!

I also worked a little on the second printing of the Magdalene Muses Deck. I am looking forward to having a new batch ready for the Mary Magdalene Celebration!

And the preparations for the Mary Magdalene Celebration have begun. I will be speaking with the musician tomorrow to see what is our plan for the live music. He has been joining us for the last few years and it’s wonderful to have his passionate drumming accompanying the dancers and poets as they perform.

This year we will also have the mini crafts fair, and the event will be actually 2 events because earlier I will present my new book Creative Soul, then we will have a reception and culminate with the creative ceremony in honor of Mary Magdalene.

Last year it was beautiful, simple and heartfelt, with dance, poetry, drumming and the community dance led by the girls who are apprenticing with Corazón Tierra. I am looking forward to a similar format, although I always like to add something new or different. I keep it as fluid and flexible as possible to allow for inspirations to manifest!

I may not have as many painting as I wanted to present that day because after being so sick for 3 months, I fell completely behind. But I am satisfied that I have a few pieces and that I still have some time to create a few more. I was trying to work bigger, but realized that the size is too big for me to work in a series and complete 12 paintings. I definitely could have done it if I had gone for the small format 8” x 10”. But it’s ok! I will have some new pieces to show.

It makes such a huge difference to draw and write when I am not exhausted from a day at the school. Even though I worked all day on my projects, I was able to draw and write with my energy intact, basically at the same hours I do everything every day. That is the difference between doing your soul-work as opposed to your work-work.

I am looking forward to so many things this summer, the Mary Magdalene Celebration, sharing my book, traveling to Puerto Rico! For now, I am using every moment I can to create something that builds my new life and re-realizes my lifelong dream. I’m not sure how it will happen, but it will… ❤️
