Today is Mary Magdalene’s Feast Day. Who do we celebrate today? An important woman of the Bible, a follower and companion of Jesus Christ, a learned woman, an illuminated being, a saint, a woman whose story we don’t entirely know, an inspiring figure, a wise woman, a woman who went beyond the expectations of her time, a faithful woman, a believer, a fully human being.
Beyond the traditional and the new stories, the research and the search for truth, the essence of Mary Magdalene is that of someone who chose to follow love. Her heart led the way, and today, after 2000 years, we remember her name and her presence.
Happy Mary Magdalene’s Feast Day to all who believe in the transformative power of imagination and who believe that love in all it’s forms is the base of our spiritual existence.
