Clarity

A month has passed as if it were just a few hours.
It was a month of reorganizing, cleaning my space, and strengthening myself for the year.
Because I was traveling during the New Year, it was really hard to get back and start over. And first, I cleaned my studio and reorganized my materials, a necessary ritual for a good start.
The time has come to return here, with my prayers of gratitude to the Magdalene for her ongoing companionship and inspiration. My progress is slow with the paintings I promised, but I continue working on the canvases I started last year.
In the last few years I have chosen a word to guide each year, and that word has inspired the Mary Magdalene Celebration’s theme. This year, the word is Clarity. This year, the promise is different. The celebration must evolve, but the sentiment will remain.
I hope that as the months pass, Clarity as a guiding thought will bring a clearer vision for the future. I closed a stage last July, and the time has come for new creation, new formats and new thoughts.
And while I’m not completely sure what exactly that means apart from a feeling of closure and completion, I know that the process of writing and creating every day will be the vehicle for the clarity I invoke.
