Just a few words tonight. I just spent hours creating a linocut that I simply forgot to reverse, and it’s text… There is nothing I can do.
Printmaking was a great love of mine. I spent long hours in the studio. It was my favorite thing to do.
But I no longer love it as much. It belongs to another lifetime.
I love the memory of it and how I felt when I loved it.
It’s about acceptance. We change. Our needs and desires change. Our tastes change, and the things we’ve done are done.
It’s exciting to imagine something new. To construct in our minds a new world for ourselves, and paint life with a new palette. Creativity is unending, but the tools change.
For now, I’ll keep the simple pencil. It never fails me, and it’s not necessary to write backwards.
