A Little More Time

My drawing is not complete today. It’s a large book, 9” x 12”, and a large drawing, and 11:00pm at night. I have to go to work tomorrow!
And that’s a lesson. Sometimes, you just need a little more time. To make it better. To enjoy the process.
Now that my projects are done, I can take that extra time to complete something better.
One of my greatest regrets in life, or maybe one of the best lessons I have learned, was when I first opened my art gallery. I was not ready at all. But a friend said, “You should open before the year 2000.” It was December 1,999. So I did. We had a great opening party with an art exhibition by all my friends. And it was great! But I never really turned it into a business because I had no idea how to do a business. I should have taken some additional time for learning that!
And now it’s time to take time to let everything fall into place. And through drawing and writing every night, I take the time to calm my mind and let ideas flow.
I will finish the drawing tomorrow, and the extra time might help me get an idea for the background. Right now, I just feel good. And that’s the main point of this exercise.
