A Healing Moment

I have a dream of one day meeting a healer. I would like to meet one of those persons like Pachita or the Seer in The O Manuscript. I just wish I could witness that kind of miracle.

The problem is I have difficulty believing people that claim to have those powers. I have also never seen the actual miracles, so even though I once met a young healer who said he could heal people with his hands, I never saw him do it. The only thing that made me believe him a little was that he mentioned that once he healed a headache that transferred to him for many days.

What I do believe is that people can heal themselves. And that change needs to happen in order for healing to occur.

Sometimes when people are sick, they become very frustrated. That was me once. They complain, resent, become the center of the Universe because the fear is so great. In my case, medicine healed me but the process was not complete. I had to continue working on myself long after to get over the fear and its manifestations.

I can’t say I don’t feel fear or never complain, it’s definitely an ongoing process to stay healthy, but I have at least understood that the only way to transcend these feelings is to stop talking: to stop complaining and criticizing and expressing negative emotions. It’s a difficult habit to quit, because we live in society and have learned ways of interacting that sometimes require such behaviors. It’s so easy to fall into them.

The only way I have found to step away from these behaviors is to realize when I have fallen back into them, and correct course. And it’s not a bad idea to stay conscious of what we say throughout the day, and of the situations and people that cause us to engage in these kinds of behaviors.

And when we fail, we can give ourselves permission to start all over and try again.

The best medicine for complaining, frustration, negativity and fear, is to do our work. Our soul work is what saves us from ourselves.

So if we believe that we are in this world to write, paint, heal others, invent new things, or whatever calls to us in our hearts, the only thing that is going to heal us and make us so happy that everything else disappears, is creative action. Anxiety is healed by taking action.

Start with a small step: find your tools and give yourself 5 minutes of soul work. Write, paint, play music, do just a tiny little bit of what fills your soul. Because that will feel so good, you will find the energy to repeat it. And repeat it, until it’s a habit.

May Mary Magdalene, Our Lady of Imagination and Creativity, bless you and guide you to Creative Ecstasy!
